The blurb for A Taste of an Enemy had me at friends turned enemies cause I am an absolute sucker for that shit, and I was not disappointed at all.

Carson and Allie are everything though! The tension and chemistry between them is off the charts, but fuck if that ending didn’t rip out my heart. Their story is so full of angst, heartache, and drama, but god I loved every bit of it and now I’m just over here dying

Please read this and feel my pain, cause I don’t think I can make it until the end of September

Eh

I am so disappointed in her. From the first two books you know these guys hate each other. But Carson starts being nice all of a sudden and she falls for it? I do like the story just wish these girls made sense.

Holly Killed it with Carter and Allie's story. OMG Hands down Carter is my favorite. I loved Beck but Carter hot damn he is perfectly imperfect. I could not put this book down... This is story is everything i could have hoped for, i can not wait until the next one. I NEED more of Carter and Allie! The detailed writing in this story makes you feel like this is really your life and not that of someone else.

4.5 stars!!

I KNEW THIS BOOK WOULD BE GOOD!! I was so excited to get to Allie and Carson's book when I saw their interactions in Beck and Josie's duet, and this did NOT disappoint!
You can feel the love that they have for each other, and though Carson pushes her away and is downright cruel sometimes, you can tell that he cares deeply for her. His reason for not wanting to be with her is heartbreaking, and it shows how much he loves her that he doesn't want to break her heart, and he isn't selfish when it comes to her. Even if his way of protecting her from himself can be frustrating and cold, his intentions are heart-warming and selfless.

The only reason this is not a 5 star is because:
1) It was too short. I wanted more

Carson and Allie and all the feels!!! Once I picked this baby up there wasn’t a chance in h**l that I was putting it down. These two together are burning up the pages and I could not get enough. The angst holy moly the angst is high the chemistry is explosive and the spice!!! Hold onto your panties ladies!!! I feel like we have just scratched the surface of Carson and Allie’s relationship and I am really looking forward in seeing where our author takes his because I have a feeling she is coming for our heart and souls with book 2.. I need it like yesterday!!!

I received an ARC and this is my first read from this author. I hadn't read the first 2 books in the series but I was able to read this book without any issues.

This book is all about Carson and Allie. They grew up together and were BFFs until one day they weren't. We learn pretty early on that they were both in love with each other in their younger days but when a traumatic experience for Carson makes him realize that Allie wasn't there for him (so he thought) and that he couldn't put any dependence on anyone but himself.

Things change though when Carson finds out there is a bet happening with some of his fellow baseball players. Pick a name from the hat and get the girl you pick to sleep with you before fall break. When Allie's name is picked by someone he doesn't particularly like, Carson will do anything to not let that happen.

The two of them end up with many interactions, both planned and unplanned and they can't help the pull that they both feel, even when fighting their feelings.

I won't spoil it but the cliffhanger made me so mad!! I think what happens in the last 20% of the book should not be what the reaction is at the end of the book. I feel like there is going to be some good groveling in the next book and lots of feelings being shared. I can't wait. Loved the angst! Bring on part 2 (book 4)!!!

I liked how fast paced the story was but also don’t really like how toxic Carson is. At first I thought I could over look it but dang it just kept coming. I definitely like the idea of the book but not so much the execution. I’m almost done with the next book as well
