This is the first Agatha Christie book I read and I was a bit scared at first that I'd be disappointed. Well that was apparently not the case at all, I loved this book from the very first to the very last lines. The plot is just so exciting and so very well thought, I absolutely can see why she is seen as such a great author.
What I really appreciated was those so well described and logical plot twists that I, being someone who hasn't read a lot of mistery/thrillers (though I'm planning on doing so), didn't even count on those twists happening. Actually I was even totally aware of the murderer from the very beginning but got unsure while reading but finally it still turned out to be true.
I loved how almost every character had a motive but also a so very good alibi. It was also quite nerve-racking to realize how real this story is and that this could actually happen exactly like it is described in this book.
One thing I missed were the characters' background stories that weren't so well described in my opinion but somehow, after all, I don't feel it would have by all means made the book a better one. This way, the focus was on the characters' actions and the connections between them, not the background story. And eventually we got all the necessary information to understand their actions and words.
I'm definitely planning on reading more of Agatha Christie's work because if every book is so well written, these will all be 5 star reads.

A fine, tricky Poirot outing by the seaside. Lots of seemingly unrelated clues that all come together in the end. I wish they'd confirmed ...
Spoiler
the identity of the drug smuggler and said something about his fate, and also that Rosamund wouldn't give up her business - though if she really wanted to, fine, I'll give her that
