It was an ok read. One or two of her books had the exact same plotline, so I had to check to see if I had read this one before. I was so sure I had.
It wasn’t unpleasant, and though the ending wrapped up neatly in a bow, it was an ok read.

I mean, the ending was a bit sappy, and it wasn't the most action packed of books, but as my first foray into Christie's work, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, managing to read it in less than a day (admittedly instead of doing coursework but still.)
It was easy to read, and was definitely not overly heavy like other crime novels I've read, and encapsulates the whole atmosphere of the 30's and 40's in Britain, something I find interesting.
While the book is mainly comprised of Poirot doing a whole lot of questioning, at the end, when all is revealed, I was overjoyed at the sheer Sherlockian (?) nature of Poirot, and all the deductions that seem so blatantly obvious after you've read it... Needless to say, I very much enjoyed this!

I’m quite sure I have highlighted quotes from an electronic publication copy of mine as I was reading. But I lost those apparently because I keep on changing the gadget I am using in reading. This deserves a reread to relive the shrewdness and creativity of classic mystery author Agatha Christie.

Had to subtract one star just for the last sentence....
