The first volume didn't really hook me but I'm happy to say this one did! The story moves along more smoothly now that Punpun's story is alternating with his uncle Yuichi's. Yuichi is a depressed, miserable, pretty much reprehensible guy, and, well, I find those kinds of characters interesting. I also found it interesting to follow Punpun's attempts to calibrate his moral compass in the absence of any adult guidance.
So far, this series kinda reminds me of the anime Welcome to the NHK as well as the film All About Lily Chou-Chou in terms of tone and some of the characterization. I plan to keep reading.

I was not expecting to get a more in-depth story of Yuuichi but I'm glad we did.
I don't know why, Punpun is just so relatable. He really acts his age in a realistic way.
