An unfortunate end to the series, I wonder how much was truly Terry. Some of the classic wit and character is still apparent but the story feels rushed and half finished

A strong (enough) finish to a beloved series. As a stand alone, it's certainly not his strongest, and I'd say it's the least of the Tiffany Aching series, but it's still a good read, and not a bad story.
Mind how you go, Sir Terry.

I'm an odd case - many Pratchett fans read this book last, or hold off on reading it with a sense of grief. This was my first Terry Pratchett book, picked up at an airport. This was the book that made me fall in love with Discworld, and especially with Tiffany Aching. This book is beautiful, compelling, and just incredible. But above all, this book is human . It showcases exactly what humanity should be, the balance of all things in the world. "FOR I CAN SEE THE BALANCE AND YOU HAVE LEFT THE WORLD MUCH BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT, AND IF YOU ASK ME, said Death, NOBODY COULD DO ANY BETTER THAN THAT. . . .” GNU Terry Pratchett, and thank you for this masterpiece of a final work.
