Very much insta Lust/Love which I usually don't like but as the story progressed I liked them together.

Dammit. I wanted to like this book more, but — two weeks?? No. Also you know nothing about each other. Interestingly, the most interesting stuff was the mystery part of it for me. Won’t stop me from reading other books by this author but damn. I need a longer timeline.

Characters: disgraced underwater archaeologist, undercover hacker
World Building: some archaeology, some hacking, native casinos, illicit artifact trade
Plot: uncover nefarious plots
Sex: medium
Read another: Yes

Competent characters! Because I was listening instead of reading, I couldn't tell if the tension over not telling the other person stuff went on longer than usual. It certainly seemed like it did, which annoyed me. I probably shouldn't listen to anything suspense-y, because the lack of resolution was killing me, and I couldn't zoom through anything scary. It looks like I read 3-4x faster than I can listen. On the other hand, I can knit at the same time.
adventurous emotional mysterious medium-paced

I liked this book. I didn't love it. I'm not sure why-maybe it was just not interesting enough? The characters were ok, the plot was ok. I didn't feel like there was anything fresh about this book though. However, I still liked it. I just didn't love it and I don't know that I would read the next book either.

I lost interest about... 2/3rd of the way into the book. The characters were getting more irritating by the page and I just ended up quitting the book altogether.

SOMETHING NEW!!!!
Very interesting learning about archology and first nation tribes :))))

Overall, super interesting anddddd cute!

I told myself that since this was one of Grant’s first novels (to my knowledge debut but I could be wrong), not to set my expectations too high. But damn it if she didn’t blow me out of the water.

This couples chemistry was magnetic but I missed the genuine emotion that I’ve gotten from some of Grant’s other couples, though truly I think that was more because of the plot that anything else.

This had just as much action and maybe MORE twists and turns than her other novels, and I’m so looking forward to the fact that I have an entire series to devour. I’ve forgotten what’s it like to have a mystery in the plot that you’re trying to solve along with the characters. I so so so enjoy Grant’s novels.

very enjoyable, I just wish their relationship wasn't built on lies... but overall good read!
