3,5* - this was a fun read!

I finished this early this morning before trying to get some sleep. I don't recall Dame Agatha being as funny as I am finding her now. I did read many of her stories when I was much younger, so perhaps it is a growing up thing.

I quite liked this first Tommy and Tuppence tale, I recall liking N or M a lot (many books from now) and that was a T & T tale as well. The two characters balance each other out quite well. I also appreciate that Dame Agatha wrote two very strong women characters, who while they had their men around them, took damn good care of themselves. 1920's women were a fiery bunch.

Second‐best Tommy and Tuppence. Nadia May is a great narrator.

Someday I'm going to cross-reference all of Christie's buggaboos with European political and cultural history. Bolsheviks! Eek!

I loved this so much! The twists and turns had my suspicions raised, satisfied and then immediately high strung. Besides one weird thing that has the historical context to blame (a minor mention), this book was excellent. Not a struggle to read
