Really enjoyed this installment. A lot less yearning, which is okay. There was a lot of action (sexual and fighting). I cried when Violet lost her mom.

This series feels like the book equivalent of a soap opera. Can’t put it down, totally addictive. Absurd plots, infuriating, dramatic relationships, twists and turns galore. And yet! totally enjoyable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Emotionally Destroyed Stars)

I don’t even know where to begin—Iron Flame completely shattered me. If Fourth Wing was intense, this book was an emotional warzone. Betrayals, sacrifices, power shifts… I felt every page.

I did not expect Nolan’s betrayal—especially after he saved Violet’s unit during interrogation training. That twist hit hard. And then Violet and Xaden finally made up, but of course, he left too early. Because of course he did. And when she couldn’t reach her dragon after that? My heart dropped.

But the most painful moment? Her mother’s sacrifice. She used Mari as a siphon to restore the wardstone, giving her life to protect her children. It changed everything about how I saw her.

And just when I thought I could breathe… XADEN TURNS VENIN.
I screamed. I stared at the last page in disbelief. And then screamed again.

Some quotes I’m still crying over:
✨ “What’s the point of surviving if I don’t get to live?”
✨ “Hope is the most powerful weapon we have.”
✨ “Even the strongest steel can break if you overforge it.”

This book was pain and power, love and loss. I’m still recovering.
If you thought Fourth Wing was wild—this one burns hotter, hits harder, and leaves scars.

Let me know who else is spiraling with me. I have tea, tissues, and trauma to share.
