- it was like…okay - not really groundbreaking or anything
- tbh kind of stereotypical neurodivergent, could be offensive
- twist at the end with the og mrs. black kind of made the whole thing a little cheap
- the plot was good i thought but it had a little too much cliche
- felt bad for molly
- family trope at the end seemed cute and just cheesy enough
- molly and juan manuel seemed a little thrown tg
- wtf she killed her grandma

Cute, fast, not terribly engrossing but enjoyable enough.
This is a quick, fun read. Personally, I would not classify this as a who-done-it on the bases that, while yes a mystery, it did not follow Ronald Knox’s 10 Commandments of Detective Fiction. This being that Mr. Black’s first wife was not mentioned early on or really even a character for that matter, as well as that Molly hid a lot from the reader. Also what’s up with Molly essentially killing Gran?
I don't get why this book is hyped up, it's so straightforward. Snooze.

The story was good but it was hard to enjoy because of how people treated Molly, especially those who took advantage of her. (Though it’s never stated, by the voice given to Molly she’s definitely either special needs or on the spectrum)
Additionally, a couple of the book’s reveals, caused me to wrestle with the moral/ethics of the situations. Not sure if I could recommend this book to others because of those.

I didn't think I would like this at first, but the protagonist/narration really won me over and I ended up having a great time! Breezy but satisfying read.

It so seems like an Amelia Bedelia book for adults! I enjoyed it.
