Such a wonderful adaptation of one of my favorite books.
Moderate: Ableism, Suicide, Medical content
Minor: Child death
This book was something else. It never occurred to me that The Giver should had a graphic novel adaptation, but it’s here, and I read it, and it’s great. My favorite part though was the use of color (and lack of color) throughout the book- incredible!

I've only recently learned that graphic novel adaptions of novels are becoming more prominent. The Giver: Graphic Novel was the first (of now many) that I've read, and remains one of my favourites. I first read The Giver in middle school as part of required reading and it had a profound effect on me. This graphic adaption feels so faithful to the source material and its use (or omission) of colour throughout was beyond excellent.

Graphic: Child death
Some graphic novels interpret a novel and some are basically verbatim. This is definitely the latter. I loved it, but having just read the novel, I did skim a bit. It was still a fun read and I’d recommend for people that haven’t read the novel before or it’s been a while.
