Creative, loved the drawings.

I think I just have to acknowledge that I'm not the target audience on this one. It was cute in places, but I found myself mostly just flipping through to get through it quickly. Win some, lose some, I guess. Thanks to Goodreads and Square Fish/Macmillan for the book. :)

The kids love this series and leap into the shops to get the next one when it’s published. I’ve been meaning to read one for ages and finally just did it. No more procrastinating, no more worrying about all the other books I’d like to read, no more being concerned that it would be the same disappointment to me that another children’s series with a combination of print and cartoon illustrations was. I just did it (Oh, I already said that).

This book is lots of fun. Not only am I totally sure the grandchildren will love it (them) but I also want to read the next one myself. I laughed throughout, and laughter is very good, as the two lads desperately tried to write their book in time for the deadline. There’s plenty of slapstick and the gross humour kids love, e.g. needing assistance from SuperFinger in clearing an obstruction from the nose, and, like any good kids’ movie, there are jokes that adults get that the kids might not yet, e.g. “his favourite guitarist Jimi Handrix’.

If your young ones missed out on this series at the beginning, start them on it now.

Very kooky story, I think a child would find it even funnier.

I can see children thinking this is the best book ever, and if my daughter reads it I'll ask for her review. It's very light on content and super silly. Not what I was expecting, so apparently I didn't know what the books were about. :)

This book was so entertaining that as I read it to my 7 year old, his 14 year old brother took his headphones off to listen.

2.5 stars
For younger reluctant readers, a great book.

Lots of folks love this but The Boy and I did not. I can see where a struggling reader would enjoy it - lots of page flips and fast progress! - but it just felt a bit chaotic and plot-free to us. I also didn't love the art style and that turned into a huge barrier.

Super funny for kids. Will definitely recommend to my DWK fans. Not going to stand the test of time, but great for what it is.

A great funny book. Definitely one that is great for 3rd graders. I laughed aloud in a few places.
