Stay with Me

Nicole Fiorina

3.97 AVERAGE

looks like harry styles 10/10

∞/5 stars! ☆ miaollie own me. that’s it. that’s the review.

⭐⭐⭐.5

before reading please look up trigger warnings!!

i didn't know this book was going to capture me the way it did. i sorta kind of knew it was lowkey a darker book, with some darker elements but it was so good. i was so invested and i had to keep going. every page, every chapter kept me on the edge of my seat for what was going to happen next. i could barely put this book down. i didn't expect this book to play with my emotions the ending left me feeling hollow and depressed. i stared at the wall for a solid thirty seconds after finishing this book. and the epilogue??

2.5 rounded
There are beautiful things in the book, but there are a lot of things done terribly

There needs to be better mental health support
When your group therapist forces you to share your trauma when you aren’t ready. Thats toxic

When you have a mental breakdown and your therapist doesn’t show up when she says she will. Red flags

Or what about when your “friend” tries to r*pe your other friend. Then it swept under the rug with no acknowledgment or apology

Mental illness is a very serious thing, and this book romanticized it in all the wrong ways. like the insta love in this book is an unhealthy obsession

I’ll keep reading the series hoping for a redemption on the mental health issues, but I doubt I’ll find that here

Ollie! The sweetest and most understanding MMC! He had such an immediate reaction to Mia.

Mia and Ollie’s stories were so heartbreaking. What they have both been through has taken such a toll on them but in opposite ways. I love how Ollie takes Mia under his wing and constantly looks out for her.

I did feel like the book was a little sporadic. Mia’s switch was kind of quick especially on how she really saw things. Yes Ollie brings out the good side of her but it felt not quite organic.

The ending was fully expected but for some reason I was still sucked in and interested to see Ollie in his medicated state.

I still enjoyed it! Just felt parts were slow and skimmed a bit of the conversations too much.

I honestly don’t have enough good things to say about this book.
Every time I had to stop reading, I was constantly wondering where the story was going to go and when I would be able to read it again. I fell in love with the characters instantly and loved the story behind both of them.
I think Nicole did a great job of addressing “taboo” subjects and the writing never came across as unbelievable or distasteful.
I loved watching the relationship between the characters bloom and watch the growth of them individually. There were so many twists and turns throughout the book that I didn’t feel it became stagnant or boring.
I think my favorite thing about this book is that the ending wasn’t your typical ending (I’ll leave it at that to refrain from spoilers).

*Catching up on Goodreads books*

Loved this! Insta love is not my favorite but I was hooked from the start! Updated Review to come

It’s hard to accurately review this book. I’ve never read anything like it and highlighted more quotes in this book than I have any other.

Let me say first off that Nicole Fiorina is a “new to me” author! I purchased this series along with Hollow Heathens (NA version), and I have to admit that this book had me hooked immediately!

What I Loved:
-Mia and Ollie! Their ups and downs, their growing love, their steam!
-I feel like I need to elaborate on the steam...I am a lover of a good smutty, steamy read. I yearn for them, and I live for them! This book has some seriously well written scenes, like hot and bothered while reading scenes, BUT...I was hot and bothered by the closeness and intimacy that happened when Mia and Ollie made love. That emotion was so raw, it’s literally unhinging.
-An overall theme of brokenness
-Raw emotion...feelings of love, hate, anger, and those characters learning to process it
-That “crap/bag” Friends reference had me rolling (IYKYK)
-Quote: “there would be dark with the light, good with evil, lose with the win, and love with hate”

I literally have nothing to say that I didn’t like about this book! I can’t get over how it wrecked me in one of the best ways possible, leaving me with a huge book hangover! Luckily, I have two more books in the series to plow through!

**It has some dark and heavy content, and does have some serious potential triggers, so I strongly suggest researching this book/series prior to reading if triggers could be an issue**
