WOW, just wow!
It's so rare to find a romance novel with an unpredictable storyline. I ended up devouring this novel in 3 sittings! Ollie, a guy who feels way too much. While, Mia, a girl who doesn't feel anything at all. When they met, it's just instant sparks and Mia doesn't know what to do or how to deal with these new emotions/feelings.

I absolutely love the story and all the twists and turns that came with it. If you're a fan of dark romances, this is a must read!

3,5-4 ★

It just ripped my heart out

I have this book on my TBR for over a year now. I'm so sad that I waited so long to finally read it. This book is amazing and is my first real 5 star read of this year.
This story was unique. Mia has build up her walls so high after something traumatic has happened, because of this, she feels absolutely nothing. She has not cried since she was about 9 years old and has never been in love. Ollie on the other hand feels too much. Normally I don't like love at first sight, but in this one it worked.

I loved seeing the relationship blossom between Mia and Ollie. It was nice to see that Mia finally found someone who listen to her and be there for her, even when she shuts everybody out and does everything to hurt that person to keep that person at a distance. Slowly her walls were coming down and she experiences feelings she has never had before.
I really loved Ollie and how he treats Mia. Sometimes the things he said were a little to cheesy for me, but that didn't lessen my enjoyment.

The plot twist at the end I didn't see coming. Both Mia and Ollie were put through hell and I hope they get the happy ending they deserve.
This is the first book this year that made me cry. Reading about Mia's past was really heartbreaking.

I liked the writing style. Also, I found the pacing to be perfect. When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it.
I highly recommend this book, but check the trigger warnings first. It deals with some heavy topics.
I can not wait to read the rest of this series.

The first half of the book was great, a 4.5* read. The second half was still good, however very repetitive.

For example - their hangouts always went down the same way and there were SO many of them it could easily be cut down. Same with the mess hall scenes.

I thought the book a good read, it was just too long for what it was.

Based on the ending i can forsee where this is going and unfortunately I'm not committed and intrigued enough to read the second book.

Overall 3.5*

“A love like this couldn’t exist in only one lifetime.”

So why does this book not get more hype?? I am broken at the end of this book… (I know there’s two more books but like why did this end like this???) I cannot wait to read more of Ollie & Mia’s story! 4.75/5 ⭐️

This book was heavy. I honestly wasn't really loving it for a while there and I really didn't plan on reading the next book, but now I feel like I have to.
dark emotional

This book very much gave ‘Colleen Hoover’ vibes - was it the best written book? No. Did I devour it? Yes.

The ‘insta-love’ trope is never it for me, and especially when it’s so all consuming. Mia babe - you’ve known this guy for a week. Calm down. & don’t even get me started on the Epilogue from Ollie’s perspective - HAHA.

The amount of ANXIETY this book gave me should not be allowed. It felt like anything that could go wrong, did. A lot of the plot points felt like they came out of left field. But also that’s what kept me sooooo curious to see what was going to happen next.

The characters were constantly making the worst decisions & they were all very unlikeable.

Overall - not a bad book but I’m not sure if I’ll finish the series.
