This book holy shit, It’s a Cinderella retelling but with Fae and humans. The story follows our FMC Raewyn a human that lives in a small poor village whose helping her father and sisters just to get by and while she’s in the market she runs into our MMC Stellon a fae prince disguised as a human well some shit goes down and as a token of gratitude Stellon invites Raewyn to the upcoming ball, she happily declines until she goes and asks the village Earthwife for help and as payment Raewyn has to go to the ball and wait for instructions on what the Earthwife wants her to do. After finding out what she wants Raewyn to do, Raewyn has to decide whether she’s gonna do it or risk the consequences.
I absolutely loved every second of this, it had me hooked from chapter 1 and I couldn’t put it down the entire time. It gave me everything I wanted and more, and now I need book 2 ASAP okay thanks Amy🥰

This is a Cinderella retelling but with elven princes. I wasn’t sure about this book at first but I ended up really liking it. I was genuinely curious how everything would play out. It’s a slow burn and forbidden romance. I really liked all the characters. I think there’s still a lot we don’t know about some of them so I can’t wait to read book two.
👀I’m looking at you, Pharis!
Recommended if you enjoy romantasy with interesting but easy to understand magic.

When I first started this book, I wasn't sure it was going to be for me, but I am glad I stuck it out. I loved how the Cinderella aspect of this book played out. It was a bit of a unique take on that.
While this book did somewhat feel formulaic in its romantasy aspects, it was the comfort of sort of knowing what was coming next that made me enjoy this book.
I really enjoyed the FMC's take on supporting her family, but it felt like her interests in her family took a back seat when the love story started a bit.
I did enjoy that the MMC was a bit of a cinnamon roll, though. Overall, this was a fun read that I'd recommend if you're looking for good ol' comfortable escapism. This book will check all your boxes. 3.5 rounded up.

An amazing *fae* spin on the classic Cinderella story. It was immersive, flirty, and captivating. The banter was top tier. A true romastasy.

It was giving Cinderella and huge green flag energy from Stellon. I enjoyed the story greatly and the ending left me wanting so much more.
A Court of Bright and Broken by Amy Patrick is the first book in an epic romantasy series set in a world where the High Fae rule and humans are at the bottom of the food chain. Raewyn is a starving peasant girl who makes a deal with the village mother to save her family. Stellon is the High Fae Crown Prince and is instantly captivated by Raewyn. This book is incredibly fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat ready to find out what happens next. The plot, world building, and magic systems are intriguing. There is a good mix of court politics and romance. Opening with a chapter from Stellon’s POV drew me in and I was hard pressed to put the book down from then on. I read it in 24 hours and cannot wait for book two. I would definitely recommend this book to all Fantasy Romance readers.

3.8 ⭐️ (I really wish GR let us do increment stars!)
Thank you to The Nerd Fam for gifting me a copy of the EARC for an honest review. I was enjoying this Cinderella twisted retelling and would’ve given 4 starts for the first half of the book. I liked the initial story building we were getting with the Elves and the Humans and liked the depth of our FMC & our MMC but it’s like about 60% or so into the book the book flips direction. As this is book 1 I am guessing this is intentional and setting up for book 2? The MMC starts doing all the things the FMC clearly has detailed what she dislikes about the dad and then the MMC goes and does similar things (maybe he’s not “the one”?!). I want to know about the powers the witches have!! . Then we are building up to an ending but I don’t know how to explain that it doesn’t so much feel like a cliffhanger but instead feels like the book just stopped? I was hoping it would end maybe on them running off and not right before. It was a bit jarring but I am very curious to see what the author does in book 2.
For me this was a nice quick afternoon read and I’m ready for book 2!
