Overall very good book I liked the mystery a lot and it kept me guessing. I think it suffered from having some boring parts. And I know cops are supposed to be dumb in so many books but one of the cops in this book is just on another level of bad.

I did this to myself. I read this out of a recommendation from someone who specifically told me this was an interesting premise but a poorly written book and they didn't lie. So, there you go. An interesting short-memory concept ruined by poor pacing, huge plot holes, and one-dimensional characters. I kept reading because I wanted to know how it ended, hoping it would have one saving grace. My mistake, I have learnt my lesson.

Ok it was fast paced and fun but wtf it didn’t tie up a loose end

This book had its issues. Even with her memory issues the main character is as dumb as they come.

***These are my random thoughts after finishing the book for me to save as personal notes (because I can't see an option to make my review private). Some of the thoughts are an overall review of the book, or any questions/feelings that nagged at me throughout. There will almost definitely be spoilers. Read at your own risk.***   ‐----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Very repetitive (I guess cause she's living a repetitive life, but still)
So many questions still - why did Brett hire the guy to scare them? Was it Kevin or Brett? What was the point of the stalker? How was she able to move back to the US on her own with her amnesia?

I loved The Night Swim and really wanted to like this title I think because I went in blind, I felt like it was going into a sci-fi, drug induced cause, rather than trauma caused source of memory loss. While I enjoy other stories about amnesia, the restarting of each day with no memory of the previous day was hard to read. There was tension added by the fact that Liv was in real danger, and I wanted to know more about what happened, and why she was in trouble, although it was somewhat predictable. The author did a good job of getting inside Liv's head, her confusion at realizing it was 2 years from her last memory, and her thought processes for getting information about her life, but I really grimaced most of the way through the book.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced reader's copy.

DID NOT FINISH: 35%

The premise sounded so interesting, but listening to it was not an engaging experience. The main character kinda got on my nerves. Normally when it comes to mystery books, I press on. I’m trying be more ruthless in my dnfing.  So I looked up spoilers and I’m okay with not finishing.
