Really like this duo. Find myself to be a bit more like Brain and I should embrace my Heart side a little more.

It's always so hard to rate these short, barely organized comic collections. I'm giving this one a 4 because of the strong ending, but as usual, there are a handful of "IT ME" ones, a bunch of placeholders, and a bunch of solid funny and/or thoughtful ones, and a pleasant way to pass the time on the subway or before bed.

Charming comics.. a decent collection!

This was delightful. Highly recommended to anyone with a heart and a brain.

A refreshing break after my more heavy reading lately. These comics are as true as they are adorable.

Across 144 full-colour illustrated pages, Heart & Brain, by Nick “The Awkward Yeti” Seluk, is a humorous coffee-table funny-book that is perfect for a jokey gift for a friend or family member who either (a) likes The Awkward Yeti stuff, or (b) is known to be a worrier and a bit of an over-thinker. It’s one of those books that makes you giggle to yourself as you read it, nodding along at the observations that you, as the reader, can relate with.

The illustrations are cute, fun and nicely done, and the humour is on point. It’s fun, but from time to time it does feel a little bit “samey” or “tedious”. It isn’t one that I recommend sitting down and reading in one go. I think this book would benefit from sitting on a table and being picked up every day or two as you flick over a couple of its pages. I think that would prevent it from becoming repetitive and allow the jokes to land more often than not.

I’m not particularly “familiar” with prior yeti-work, but this gave me a giggle a few times. It looks at the conflicting opinions of our heart and mind, as the brain and heart each argue and converse about various things. The heart wants to spend money and live for the moment, while the brain wants to take into account the various issues this would present. It’s relatable, as I said, and this makes it an enjoyable read.

A top notch gift book, for sure. I enjoyed this one.
