What an awesome start to hopefully a great series. I really feel bad for Aflora. She gets thrown into something she didn't want. All of the midnight fae counsel are sexist pigs. I like the tension between Aflora and the men in this book. This book leaves you with so many unanswered questions that I need book 2.

In my quest for a spicy why choose/rh with mmf, I found this book and hoped it was going to be everything I wanted and more. Ngl I almost DNF'd just because I could not get myself to care about these characters. I know this author has several other books set in the same universe and there were definitely times where those character's stories were just plopped in and you could tell like oh this is a plug to go read their story. I'm glad I pushed through though and the last 40ish% of the book I found myself really enjoying it. The spice so far is 🤌🏻 so I can't wait to continue and get more of it.
