It took me about 50% of the book to get into this. I think because I really loved Aflora in the elemental fae books and I felt sad for her! I can't quite imagine how this is all going to work out, but something big is going to happen!

After 50% I was addicted! I have loved the development of the guys. They each have gained a bit more depth. I'm kind of sad that no one (Claire and Sol especially) insisted on at least talking to Aflora to check she was ok. She was basically kidnapped and it feels like no one cares!

It's certainly gripping and I'm really enjoying it. The ending was a shock I had not expected, which is always fun! I'm looking forwards to the next book!

A downside to a reverse harem is when all the men are trash. Assaulting and changing the trajectory of her life against her will? Trash. Intending to use her body and end up getting more than you bargained for, blaming her alone for it, and tossing her to the curb with your disproportionate power dynamic? Trash. Utilizing her lack of knowledge of this new world that you are supposed to be teaching her about in an attempt to bring her to heel? Trash.
And then! They have nightly sex dreams with her that we hear only vague whispers about when the details could be incentive alone to continue reading or even rooting for the guys. As well as potential opportunities to build the characters in that liminal void of dreams without censure beyond the chaos of the world they’re living in. Also, the writing forces the reader to edit it in their heads as they go as a nice distraction from the mess. Just

should really read after Elemental Fae Academy

My first delve into this world was Hell Fae and I stopped about 20% in and went looking for the start. I found it in Elemental Fae Academy where the world in introduce with Claire and her mates. I believe that series shines so much light on this one. Because of it, I know more of Aflora’s backstory as well as how things work for her people. It helps with this series where we get a deeper look into the Midnight Fae.

I will say in Hell Fae Emelyn is shown as a good fae not a mean girl so I’m looking forward to that switch.

Shade is my favorite

NOPE

I do not like rapists. I do not like books that glamorise rape, and forced relationships. Awful.
medium-paced

It was fine I like who the story is building but 5 books seems like a lot. I’ll give the second book a go and hopefully still interested.
