For the love of Pete, even knowing what's going to happen doesn't take away the angry, angsty sting.
These people are incredibly complex works of art.
The plot has such magnificent layers, all dark, shiny, all consuming.
This new audio version MELTS the soul. 🔥🥵❤️❤️💋As always, Sierra's writing has no limits, she us a goddamn queen 👑

This thing morphed into so many other things all at once that I'm overwhelmed. It was enjoyably trashy but after a short while it literally ✨lost the plot✨. The characters are either transparent as a glass, completely opposite to what they tell us they are or simply dumb as rocks, especially Greer (wherever the hell this name came from).

4.5 stars. I really loved this alternative world contemporary romance! I was getting serious Fitz and Olivia (from Scandal) vibes from the main characters and this was HOT.
I really enjoyed the kinky romance aspect to this book. A lot of the kinky books I've read recently have also fallen into he dark romance category (which I love) but it's lovely and refreshing to see a fun, contemporary, kinky romance that isn't all dark and twisted.
The only thing that made me take off half a star was the way Embry responded to Ash. He became quite Subby when the three of them came together and I would have preferred it if he and Ash topped Greer together. That's definitely a personal preference thing and speaks more to my taste in D/s dynamics rather than any fault of the book. For the same reasons, I didn't enjoy that Ash called Embry his 'little prince', I just found it cringey and it didn't work for me. But again that's definitely more about my personal tastes, when I'm reading kinky romance I like all the guys in the relationship to be in a dominant role, I prefer the women to be sweet and subby.
Apart from that minor issue at the end, it was a fantastic read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I honestly did not expect to like this book as much as I did, but I flew through it and can't wait to pick up the next one. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of in-depth writing in this book, the details jump off the page and keep you firmly in New Camelot as you move through the pages. This is the first book I've read by Sierra Simone and it most definitely will not be my last.
