The chemistry between Carla and Eamon shines through. The setting is magical. And her relationship with her father honestly had me in tears.
Wanting a book with St. Patrick’s Day vibes, I decided to pick up this Irish adventure romance, not knowing it was part of a series. Even though I found that out after reading, this totally worked as a stand-alone and now makes me want to go read the earlier ones.
The book follows Carla, the maid of honor, and Eamon, the best man/brother of the groom, as they make the trek from Dublin across Ireland to the wedding. The two connect immediately and after a steamy initial encounter, get a bit sidetracked with exploring the country Eamon has grown up knowing but felt he hasn’t discovered.
I was cackling during this book from the banter and as someone who tends to veer more towards dark romances, I was obsessed with this romantic comedy. That said, there were plenty of heart wrenching moments exploring aging, dementia, and finding purpose that gutted me in the best way. This book had me laughing, crying, and everything in between. If you need some chicken soup for the soul, this book will hit you right where you need it.

This one was a surprise. I haven’t read a Trish Doller book in years! I loved the characters, the conflict, and the steaminess.
This was fun! A road trip across Ireland between two essential strangers. She helps him realize he can change his life and explore the world and he helps her learn that its ok to go home. They run into some silly incidents (see cover for reference lol) on their way to a wedding. Each character has a great backstory and depth and I loved how they came together.
Tropes: Wedding; Travel; Sworn off relationships; road trips; Friends with benefits; Forced Proximity; camping; Afraid to commit

This was a fun and sweet romance.
I really enjoyed getting to know Carla and Eamon, joining in on their adventures in Ireland, and seeing their relationship develop.
I liked seeing how Carla came to find a way to balance all she wants - adventure and travel with learning.

This was a beautiful story about Carla and Eamon. Carla is in Ireland for her best friends wedding and is picked up by the groom's brother, Eamon. There is instant chemistry between the two and Carla gets Eamon to step a bit out of his comfort zone and take a round about way to the wedding. What Carla didn't expect was to fall in love, and confront the painful future of her father's life with dementia.
I loved the character development for both of these people throughout the story and seeing them both becoming the people they want to be. This book also had a lot of funny moments that made me laugh out loud. At the same time, the book has these serious moments, especially near the end, while Carla begins to cope with her father's dementia.
I will admit that I struggled with the "inseparable at first site", but at the same time it really seemed to match with Carla as a person. She was so free spirited and I loved her "machete" ways.
If you like a close confines, love really quickly finding yourself type books, this is the book for you. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.
