Dear authors,
I love your books, so please do not ever try to survive in the mountains in real winter cold without updating your knowledge of layers and why jeans(cotton) is poor choice of outdoor clothing, and that walking barefoot on deep frozen ground never is an option. It won’t end well.
To all others:
Loved it! This book is definitely one of the best I’ve read in this genre. The story is the perfect blend of dark and sweet. It deserves the 5 stars, don’t want to spoil so just read it:)

Things I liked:
- I loved the way the author built the connection between Winter and Nicoli. It was really unique and steady, especially since she didn’t talk.
- One of my favorite parts of this was seeing the brothers connect and get to know one another.
Things I didn’t like:
Winter’s amnesia and the whole husband thing was rough. That seemed so unnecessary to me and frustrated me a lot.

This book was well thought out. The twists and turns made me not want to put the book down.
Winter is a fierce goddess. I fell inlove with her character growth. The way she found her voice. The fierce love she has for Nicoli can make any swoon. Her relationship with Sloan make me laugh. It reminds me of my own relationship with my best friend.
Nicoli's growth was fun to watch. I love how he embraced his birth origins and his family. The Romano's were the better family out of the two that he has known. There is a code with them that wasn't with his other family.
The chapter where he reunited with his father made me sob. It shows that Martello is a better man than Guiseppe. I hope there are more books about the family that include this couple and Rocco and Sloan. I need to know if Frankie and Enzo find love haha.
Definitely recommend this book and Beautiful Carnage. I would read Beautiful Carnage first before this book. You will get a better sense of the family background and the characters.

I inhaled this book as if my life depended on it. This is Truth and Tobias's story and was fast paced and as with all that is Steel it was fantastically written. Other members of the Steel crew make an appearance, much to my delight, and as the story progressed they once again showed that they are fierce.
I wasn't sure how I felt about Tobias at first but was soon championing him for the win.
Loyal, honest and hard working he proved to be a match made in heaven for truth and a man that had the backing of Truth's mum Tara.
I can't wait for Justice's story, which I'm sure will be just as brilliant.

3.5⭐s // previous book's OM becomes a reclusive mountain man and rescues fmc with amnesia and trauma-induced mutism.

A great second installment in the Dark Empire Series!
Beautiful Savage is book two in the Dark Empire Series (I think this was renamed from The Boys of Sinners Bay). This series is technically not "complete," but this book can be read as a standalone within this series (NO CLIFFHANGERS GUYS). I will say though that this one is definitely darker than Beautiful Carnages, and TW that I think should be known are: kidnapping, physical and mental abuse, and attempted SA.
Beautiful Savage is about Nicoli and Winter. Nicoli has been living in the mountains for the past year and stumbles upon Winter, who has been held captive by a drug cartel type community not to far from Nicloi's cabin. From the moment Nicoli helps Winter, the connection is palpable. I loved watching them grow into each other, and watching Winter learn to trust again.
This book grabbed my attention faster than Beautiful Carange, however I would say this has 3 distinct parts. The first third of the book is Nicoli and Winter in the mountains, then the second third is them coming back to the "real world", and finally the last third is the reader learning about why Winter was captured and the resolution. The middle third was a little slow for me, but that is bc it was mushed between two very fast paced sections. However, despite that this was still a very good read!
I cannot wait for the sisters to dive back into this series sometime! I need more Frankie and Enzo!

Wow!!! Loved this book. Loved, loved, loved it!!! It grabs your attention from the beginning and never lets it go. I read it without my percentage turned on and I was like oh, this is a short book, but then that was only the beginning of this crazy story!!! I LOVED that it isn’t a short and sweet romance, there’s twists and turns and so much more than you could ever think there’d be to the story. Yes, this book is about Nicoli and Winter, but can I take a moment to appreciate Frankie? Because he gets some FaceTime in this book and woo baby.. I can’t wait for his book!
Beautiful Savage iS a stand-alone. Reading Beautiful carnage first will enhance the reading experience of this book as the characters cross over into this book, but you don’t have to read it first to enjoy Beautiful Savage. And there is an additional plot to this story that leaves you wanting to know more and ties all the books together, but you can read this book and feel fully satisfied come the end.
