It was just so dense describing each set of people in a paragraph each (if that). Very entertaining writing, I just couldn’t focus on it at night.

I liked the Greek gods better than the Christian, Jewish or Muslim god. They were not ambivalent all powerful beings. They were very human in their avarice, wants and traits. We can see where the other faiths get their myths from. Zeus is the all powerful god and the lesser gods were given the roles of prophets etc. Pandora box? Eve's apple. Stephen Fry's rye sense of humour was evident throughout. I must admit I got fed up with the footnotes and enjoyed the book without referring to them .

Love the new life Stephen has put into the old Myths. He has added some of his own flair and especially as I listened to the audiobook which he read himself.

Listened to this as an audiobook read by the author, which I think greatly added to the experience. It was dauntingly long at 16 hours but actually it went pretty quickly
