I ended up enjoying this book a lot more than I expected. It was very different from what I find in romance and erotica, the two characters being 3 years married already. You enter their story already seeing their love for each other and how well they do together.
This leads you to expect that you won't be getting the typical plots of romance and erotica, the chase of the girl and the falling in love for the first time before deciding to be together. But Lane gives you glimpses of their past and how they met and them falling in love with each other as well as the struggles they've had to go through to get to where they are, not just the present relationship and she does a really good job. The smut was really well written too. Dean is a the kind of husband you'd wish for.
The problems that rise between Dean and Liv are very real and well done, and wow the angst factor. I was rooting for them to work things out the entire way, and slightly pissed at how Liv dealt with a certain aspect of their rough patch but she handles it maturely and understands her wrong doings.
I did not like the huge cliffhanger ending though (thankfully I had the next book handy.)

Spoiler
I am not too happy with Dean getting away with saying what he did about her in regards to her mother and there not being an apology. But I guess in the grande scheme of things they understand the things said in their argument was just out of anger.I did not like the huge cliffhanger ending though (thankfully I had the next book handy.)
I don't give five stars often, and I take the time to write a review even less. This book rates both.
From the very beginning Liv and Dean's story drags you in. Anyone who has ever been in love can relate with them. By the time I was half way through I was so engrossed with the well written story line of Liv's point of view. Then Dean's point of view comes into play and I fell even deeper in love with this book.
Needless to say tomorrow I am going to start book two, I can't wait to see where their story goes next.

I wasn’t expecting Arouse to be as addicting as it was. I couldn’t put it down, and ended up staying up way later than I wanted to to finish it. I love it when a book surprises me and I end up liking it much more than I thought I would. Arouse is one of those books.
First, let’s tackle the title. Arouse pretty much lets you know it going to be a steamy. That isn’t typically the type of books that I go for, but it had some good reviews on Goodreads so I thought I would give it a chance. While this book does have some risqué scenes, it is so much more than that. Arouse has good character, and I couldn’t help but get wrapped up in the characters lives.
The only complaint I have about this book was the ending. There wasn’t really any type of resolution. I read this whole book and was waiting for thing to finally work out with Dean and Olivia, and while there is a semi-conclusion, I never felt like they got anything figure out between them. My issue with the ending is made bearable by the fact that I already have the second book and will be able to continue the story immediately.
I would recommend this story for anybody who likes a good romance book with a plot. This book isn’t all about getting it on. Dean and Olivia are going through a rough time and we get to experience the ups and downs with them.

Why did I like Tyler more than what-was-his-name Dean?

I enjoyed this book so much and it was different than what I normally read. This story shows more of the real ups and downs that are present in any marriage. I truly loved these two characters because they show how much they will fight to make their relationship work, even when things go wrong. I loved how it had the hot and steaminess, yet that wasn't what the whole story was about. Can't wait for book #2!
OH MY - I love so much about this book. The writing is outstanding but the character and story line is AMAZING. I won't write a real review until I've completed the series. A review on this deserves so much more than my gushing about 1 book, especially when I know there is more to come - more angst I'm sure. I LOVE, ADORE Olivia, and Professor West of course!
Other reviewers have commented on how REAL it is, and with 19 years of married life under my belt, I couldn't agree more.
