This book is a definition of there is always light at the end of the tunnel", because the journey towards the ending was one that became arduous but also very worth it.

The Ragpicker King is a novel full of twists and turn and surprises at every corner, as expected from the mind of Cassandra Clare. The politics were tastefully done, the conspiracies and theory-crafting was well-thought out, and the pay-off was very much appreciated. There are a lot of good things to enjoy in the book, truly, but I think it suffered the same fate as it did in the prequel of this novel.

There's so much fillers and gaps that I think could've been opted out to make the book more digestible. I think the story and the plot would've benefited if it was a less thicker novel, since most of the significant plot points were added on the first 40% and the last 20% of the novel. I think we do not need an almost 600+ pages to capture the beauty and plot of the Ragpicker King.

Nonetheless, it was really the journey towards that end that became a the beacon of what the potential this book really has. I cannot deny that Cassandra Clare has mastered the mixture of conspiracy and plotting as this book has perfectly captured. I am genuinely invested and looking forward to the next installment!

T'was a good book y'all. I must admit, I liked the pacing of the first book a lot more - for a while, things were happening vut without any action, yk? However, the last 100-150 pages were crazy!
The plot thickenssssss and I can't wait for the next one tbh.
