Read for book club. I wanted to like this one a lot more than I did - the characters are charming, the setting is cool, the magic is unique - but I just had a hard time getting and staying into it - kept getting distracted

This was great and heartwrenching. Being 14 and all this is what you experience and do is tough. Well written, I even felt for the gingerbread men.

I really enjoyed this book (Bob especially) but the end felt a little...hollow? It felt like

knackering molly swooped in with a deus ex machina

and I just wanted a little more from it.
