This was an excellent story. A little saccharine at times, but still solid. The ensemble narration was fantastic!

I really liked this book the first 180 pages or so but thought it was really cheapened by the police statements given by nearly every character for 80 pages. It didn’t reveal anything new or significant and I guess the author wrote it for the whole “small town has your back” kind of thing but it really lacked creativity and made the book choppy. I also thought it was lame how Kasey drops her fiancé after being back with her hs boyfriend for 2 weeks but I guess it’s leaning into that Southern small town trope.
