The story was ok… Kinda dragged on to me. Fell asleep many times reading it. Had ZERO spice.. Also listened to the audiobook narration while reading kindle edition. The narration was bad! I think that kinda ruined it for me also.

Mafia romance is not a trope I read regularly, but I'd seen ads for this one several times and decided to pick it up. I was not disappointed. Given the nature of this story, I expected a lot of angst and graphic violence. While there is, indeed violence, I didn't find it to be too graphic, gory, or over-the-top. Instead, this is a book about courage. I enjoyed these characters and their story. One of my favorite parts of the book was the quotes about courage at the beginning of each chapter.

I found I had to suspend belief a little more than I’d like with this book. At first I was fine with it, because this story reminds me in the fondest way of Harry Styles AU mafia fanfic I’ve read

This was a great read and it kept me entertained until the end! It was a bit slow at the start but once I got a little into it I couldn't put it down! I loved Asher and I really loved Asher and Lucy together! Their banter and chemistry was fun to read and I loved how in tune they were to each other. I really enjoyed the side characters as well and hope to see more of them in the future. I'm looking forward to reading Parker's next book and getting to know Nick better! Also, I totally loved all of the Harry Potter references.
