Asher is so tough, so bad and such a sweetheart

For a debut novel by this author, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were fun and relatable. The pacing was semi-realistic. It didn't feel boring to me at any point. Some of the outlying characters kind of checked the usual boxes (mean girl, nefarious bad dude, etc.) but it was pretty good overall.

Overall: 4.0/5 - Just as it states above: not boring, likeable characters, natural pacing (mostly). Steaminess was a little lacking but that's ok. It was a quick, enjoyable read.

I wasn’t very impressed with this book. I had very high hopes and was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad read, however I won’t read it again and I don’t think I will continue the series. I just feel like the characters love story wasn’t developed well and the dramatics went from one extreme to the next.

This was an entertaining read for the most part. The narrator, Lucy, was a bit too crass for my liking and had a heavyyyy internal dialogue. This was off putting in the beginning but I eventually got used to it. As the story picked up, I enjoyed it more and more. It made me laugh quite a bit, especially when things were still light. Mainly when Lucy’s BFF Aimee was part of the story before completely disappearing. The most disappointing part was when the two finally went all the way. It was a sloooow burn, and when it finally happened, I was disappointed. Didn’t remotely scratch the itch for me and honestly I felt cheated out of my time. On a similar note, I thought the ending was a bit lazy as well. Not at all how I expected things to go down. With all the information on Asher’s security system, body guards, and all of his company’s creations (special body armor and bulletproof glass for example), not to mention Lucy’s fighting and shooting training, I was expecting a showdown. That was certainly not the case. It was entertaining enough, and it made me smile at times, but it felt like it was missing something.

One of my all-time favorite Parker S Huntington books.
I read this a while ago just never got around to reviewing it on good reads. I think its definitely time for a reread soon, I miss these characters so much.

This book just felt incredibly pointless. There was so much of it that had no actual use. I skimmed a lot and there was no part of the book I didn’t understand. It was hardly a fake relationship book and I barely kept reading. Overall super disappointed.

This book was seriously one of the best books I have read to date. I love Parker's writing style. The quotes at the beginning of every chapter were so beautiful and went along with the chapters. I love how strong Lucy is and how she is such a great heroine. And the way she builds courage every chapter with the help of having Asher by her side.

Asher is great as well. I loved his character so much. How he ends up being everything that Lucy wants in a man. I love that their chemistry wasn't forced. They worked on an exercise together to help them get to know each other which helped them understand each other better, read each other better, respect each other, and have a relationship grow out of that. The most beautiful thing I have read. I seriously thought I was going to hate Asher, but I was definitely wrong.

My favorite part would have to be THAT part where Lucy stands up for him. YOU KNOW THE PART. Seriously, I reread that part like 10x before moving on because it was just so beautiful and I was like YES GIRL! Defend yo man lol

Anyways, beautiful story and I cant wait to start the next book!
