It was poorly written. The plot was so sloppy and the characters were all so annoying.
This girl (whose name I don't remember honestly) : Dates a man who is in the mafia
Also her : Gets mad that he's doing mafia sh*t
Anyways, another book about some pick me bitch, doing some pick me shit.
"I couldn't be friend with a girl who wears makeup, thankfully neither me or my best friend wear makeup so I am not waiting around for her like i would for these other fake ass girls "
- The FMC, basically.
I also have a deep dislike for books that try too hard to make the FMC "special". Do you really mean to tell me that at a table of people who own multi-million/billion businesses, no one (or their thousands of very qualified and experienced employees) though of that very basic "solution" this 21-year-old gave ??? please... *aggressive eye roll*.

Wonderful
I loved this. Asher and Lucy were wonderful characters and I loved how they grew as individuals and as a couple. I can’t wait to read more.

Wow, this book was amazing. I literally couldnt put it down, no matter how hard i tried. I love the connection the two main characters had and loved how well they were together. I loved the bold and brave Lucy but those moments of her not being able to talk to Asher drove me crazy specially since he kept coming to her and tell her things little by little. Made me want to scream at her.

Asher Black...the name exudes power...and Lucy finds herself in the clutches of this mafia "fixer". After getting herself in a situation with Asher, she has to make a decision. Save her life or become the fake fiance of the famous Asher Black. The story of the Asher and Lucy is a lighter listen to me, and as we get to know the complexity of their characters, it is more of a love story. Having a strong lead female is always a plus, and I found Lucy to be a great character. She never backs down and her amusing banter makes for a fun listen. Asher, the broody alpha, is harder for me to warm up to, but by the end, is likable. There are several themes in this that are interwoven really well, like family not having to be blood, protection of those you love as well as making sure you complete your education. Underlying subjects like these create the great back stories we love to hear about the characters. I do look forward to more of these character driven books(Lucy's bodyguard would be an entertaining one!).
Lacy Laurel always gives a performance worthy of listening to. Her well paced voices are perfect for the setting of this story. She has distinguishable voices for her characters, letting us know who is speaking and makes the story enjoyable.

Do I regret reading this until 2am last night? Not one bit.
Am I tired af? Yes, yes I am.
Asher Black was a pretty interesting mafia book. In it, you will meet Lucy and Asher. How they meet was pretty normal I guess - if you count what they did in an alley outside a night club normal. Then there's the teeny tiny fact that she called the cops on a misunderstanding in said night club.. and walked away from him and that place.
Little did she know that Asher was looking for her. I mean, she thought he was and that he was going to murder her and stuff since she found out that he is in the mafia and owns the club on the night of the dreaded phone call. When he found her, it was a bit weird but everyone/everything was in this town. The moment he met her, something changed in him. She was intriguing and something special in a way. Mostly because she's a ghost - she has no background or anything. Clean has a whistle which is good for the public eye that seems to follow him. Or he thought.
Once they come up with a plan to be fake engaged... well the sexual tension turns up. It's there and it's obvious but nothing really happens. They get closer to each other throughout the book but then things got in the way. Whether it was people trying to murder her, trying to take Asher down, or their own confused feelings getting in the way - I was hooked. Which is why I up so late reading this thing from start to finish.
The ending was really cute and I definitely enjoyed watching them come together. They were completely shippable because they had amazing chemistry. I'm kind of excited to carry on with this series just to get little glimpses of these two.
