So here's the story - a 40+ year old athlete discovered that sex can be fun and good business as well - she became a professional escort in Las Vegas. When she was discovered, she "found out" that she was suffering from bipolar disorder and wrote a book to whitewash the fact that she liked the money and the crazy sex.

It was an ok book.

Unique story.

I was in university at the same time as Suzy and I remember her running past me on my walk back to campus with her training shoes in her hands. She was lithe and fast and I was so jealous. I cane from a family of runners and she was the epitome. It just goes to show that you can never imagine a persons entire life based upon success in one arena. The enormous pressure she was under and the impact on her entire life because of mental illness is incredible.

I was recommended this book by my favourite person who works at the bookstore that I go to. She had said this was the best memoir that she had ever read, she described the book as unputdownable. I figured I had to give it a chance. I like to read memoirs/biographies every once and a while to change things up. I did read this book in 2 days, but I would not say it is the best memoir that I have ever read. It was okay, there were definitely parts where I found myself skimming. This book does definitely bring perspective to the illness and gave me more knowledge about bipolar disease. It isn’t a book that I would recommend to anyone.

Suzy uses her being bipolar as an excuse to engage in high risk behavior. Sorry Suzy, this book just doesn't ring true as someone who has dealt with her demons. I wish her the best, however I believe that this will not be the last time that we hear about her, and it won't be positive.

I only wish you went deeper into her treatment, instead of ending it so abruptly. Maybe she'll come out with another memoir...

Could not put it down

This is a book you pick up and read a few pages and then realize you’re not going to get anything done until it’s finished. Suzy does a great thing by opening our eyes to the power of a mental illness.

This book had me hooked from the start! Could not get enough of this book. The ending could have been stronger, but overall I really enjoyed the writing and the message behind the book.
