I saw awesome reviews of this book and author on this site and on Amazon when I was purchasing it for my kindle. All I have to say is, I 100% agree. The book was amazing. The plot was gripping. The characters were all unique and interesting and it was written really well. At first, the writing is a bit confusing because it is written in third person and each section is from the point of view of a different character, but you get used to it and it makes the story even more interesting because you are seeing things that you wouldn't see from the main character's perspective. (The main character in this story would be Lizzy Gardner).

Overall, I believe this book is a must read and I am actually just about to start the second book in the Lizzy Gardner Series. Happy Reading.

Read this in one day- it was a quick read. Kind of reminded me of a book form of Criminal Minds.

This book was actually a good read. Hopefully, things will work out for Lizzy and Jared...

3.5 stars

So.. I may have blown through this series and decided to come back and write a review after I recovered from the emotional turmoil that was the Lizzy Gardner series. I can't say much that hasn't already been said about the series. But I'm going to write a review anyway.

This is the start of the Lizzy Gardner series and from what I understand, this is T.R. Ragan's first mystery/thriller. This is why I rated it 3.5 instead of the 3 I originally planned on giving it. Some aspects of the writing and the characters weren't great. It took me longer than usual to finish because I was tiring of some of Lizzy's behaviour. But I pushed through and it was definitely worth it.

The books following Abducted had me firmly believing I made the right decision. The characters become more fleshed out and the mystery more captivating and twisted (which I'm a sucker for). I became very invested in all the secondary characters and found myself just as interested in them-sometimes more so-as I was in Lizzy. As the series goes on, you find that the theme of this series is strong women. T.R. Ragan was able to show us different personalities and ways of coping in each female character which is why I highly recommend the series.

However, be prepared for some very dark themes. Some trigger warnings should probably be attached to her books. It is not for everyone. But for those who love following character development and reading the dark and twisted, definitely give this a go!

I can't remember how I found out about this book and I have no idea why I even considered reading it, since the copy I bought has a huge spider on the cover and I'm very scared of them, but with that said, this is a great first book. I was hooked from the beginning. I would have read this book a lot faster but because of the previously mentioned spider on the cover and some reviews I read about this book I vowed not to read it before bed to avoid nightmares. In the end I'm glad I ignored the reviews that made this sound like a very detailed horror book. There wasn't anything that bad in it and thankfully not many spider parts. The characters are great and I can't wait to continue the series.

This was a thriller. It was a pretty quick read and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a good inexpensive book on my Kindle and I would recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book and all of them in the series. They were all fast paced and had plenty of action that it kept me reading! I felt they were all the perfect mix of mystery and thriller!

3.5. I liked it but I felt myself having to flip back and check things often. I'm hoping the next book extends the characters a little though I'm not sure where they can really go from here story wise.

The thing is, I couldn't put it down. However, I agree with the other reviews: too many characters to keep straight with too many coincidences along with duplication of information. Still.

Distinctly average. Perhaps even 2.5
