This was one of the first classics I read as a teenager that I actually finished and enjoyed. And understood. Now as an adult, I love it.

Edmond Dantes is a master of cold revenge. He leaves no stone unturned to get back at those who wronged him. With his unwavering determination, he ensures that everyone gets what they deserve.

good read.
I think what I really liked about this book wasn't the revenge component so much as the parts where the Count had to rein in his revenge (the revenge components were also pretty good through). But the parts of the book where Edmond had to save Valentine for Maximillian's sake or save Albert for Mercedes sake are what really added dimension to these characters for me. I also liked the writing, verbose and dramatic without feeling too cumbersome (most of the time).

This book really reflected my then husband so well, I changed his contact in my phone. Well worth the read.

I honestly can’t believe that I didn’t even know about this book before I saw the movie. We watched it for a work event, and I absolutely loved it! And the book is even better! Edmond Dantes is my favorite character of all time. His method of fighting, in my opinion, is more on a psychological front than the physical, which somehow fascinated me even more! Loved it! And I can’t wait to read more of Dumas’ works

5 swashbuckling stars!!!!
