Grace Draven is one of my new favourite fantasy authors. Her stories are unlike so many others in the genre with fresh takes on myth and lore. She creates beautiful characters with believable relationship development.

This was really good. I loved Brishen and Ildiko and the way their relationship advanced slowly. I especially appreciated the way in which Ildiko was portrayed. She's strong and not so easily intimidated, keeping her head up but she knows what she's not and that's a fighter. Sometimes, I feel as if authors try to create a way too perfect female heroine by making her do everything flawlessly. It's unrealistic.
Brishen was such an honorable and honest character. It's refreshing and I came to love their interactions. Especially when Ildiko crosses her eyes to freak him out. That was so adorable.
I really loved this. My only criticism is that sometimes the story was a bit too slow. There isn't really anything happening at times and it kind of drags on a bit... But never for too long a time and at the end this was definitely worth reading.

Very sweet. Instant chemistry from both main characters and a slow gradual love story. There’s not a lot of tension and the main plot doesn’t have a strong through line. It also seems like the plot set up for book 2 in this epilogue has almost nothing to do with the plot groundwork laid here. IDK. It was enjoyable but nothing special.

Very nice book. Monster romance in a way, but mmc is very humanoid.
I really liked how the romance was slow burn. Being from different beings they had to get used to each other’s appearance which was funny. This book made me laugh quite a few times which was surprising.

Ohhh how i loved this book!! The banter was so good and funny, I laughed snorted so many times. Usually I hate slow burns but this was SO worth it. The book is well written and fast paced. If you're looking for a quirky monster human spicy romance with loads of banter, this is the one. It had serious parts and is part of a serious that I can't wait to read more of!
