One of my favs of the year FOR SURE <3 I cackled like a hundred times during reading! This book was cute and hilarious, I connected with the characters so much I can’t even remember when it happened the last time and I’m so so happy!!! Every interaction of Brishen and Ildiko stole my heart ❤️ loved every bit

A beautiful story about two different people--by culture and race--falling in love. Not a lot of plot outside the building of their relationship (and the political bits present are interesting either way), but worth it all the same. I truly love the main couple and the characters around them. I usually go for a bit more depth of plot, as I found the Kai royal family to be something I would have loved to sink my reading teeth into, but I was wholly surprised by how much I simply enjoyed the growth of love between Ildiko and Brishen.
