It was a sweet change of pace to read a “morally white” mmc romance arc with two (borderline too-good-to-be-true) kind and unproblematic characters. I wish them the best and would gladly marry either of them myself. That being said, the plot was slow and accomplished very little, the writing was poorly proofread, and the actual love story and drama of the world ultimately left me feeling kinda meh/uninvested and uninterested in continuing the series. I’m not sure if I will continue given how long my tbr is and how short life is. This isn’t bad by any means though, and the low stakes and sweet characters will be just what someone else is looking for.

I loooved the slow build-up for the romance. It was really refreshing to read a romance where the characters weren’t attracted to each other….only until they got to know each other.
The majority of this book felt like a cozy fantasy with low stakes, which I enjoyed. The ending picked up on the stakes side of things but it felt a little rushed.
I will be reading book #2.

loved the romance and the two main characters, didn't care much for the plot but it was okay, there were a few grammatical errors but overall a good book. If the synopsis intrigues you, definitely give it a try

I like to try to tell myself that I don't read books for the romances. In some cases, I actually don't, I swear! But my little heart always loves a good romantic story.
So the fact that this book is unapologetically a romance first, and has political scheming in the background, really calls to me
From the first moment of meeting, the two main characters relationship is built on honesty and respect. From there, it only grows into a lovely relationship that shows equal footing between both halves of it. This book was honestly amazing, and I can only one day dream of having a relationship like the one Ildiko and Brishen have.
