Sometimes I have the joy of finding gems amongst stones and this was one. The premise is that a human marries a Kai for political reasons but both species (?) find the other repulsive. She describes him as an eel and he describes her as a pink mollusk with freaky eyes. But they quickly find an endearing affection for each other, and this book is both about the Kai’s ability to transfer radiance — memories of the dead — and also the radiance of the love that develops between these two lovers. I appreciated that nothing about this book was trite. The writing was well done. The editing was very clean (shout out to Evil Editor Mel). I’m very much looking forward to meeting this author at RomantasyCon Orlando to see what else she’s written.

Okay so la primera parte de esta novela yo estaba feliz este libro era divertido y tenia un poco de cultura pero luego cuando el chavo se va una semana aparce la otra luego pasan dos meses y aparce de nuevo y en la segunda parte hay mucha información sobre guerra y cosas que noooo estoy aqui por el romance no para escuchar de polica meh, cuando hablaban yeah los dialogos la mayoria bien pero lugeo podia pasar una pagina entera de descripción de una cosa random so hay final no me termino de convercer y nunca me quejo del sexo pero siento que no se cuando paso fue como mehh.

This was a fun, relatively mindless read. Some of the terminology can be difficult, but I didn’t find it overwhelming. This was a lighthearted adventure that I definitely enjoyed as a palette cleanser.
