I can’t believe I didn’t know about this book! I feel like it’s rare to read a queer text from the 80s from a Lesbian perspective, especially a butch lesbian. It gives a sad insight into what life was like for Butches! I kept thinking I was reading a non fiction book lol but it is obviously fiction, just written so well that you feel like the characters are real life characters xoxo

i thought this was a memoir for the first 50 pages :') but with that i will simply say that i am very glad to have finally read this book. as with many books i love this will be on my mind for a while

I am of the opinion that we come into contact with art when we need it and when we are able to give to it what it needs and it’ll give us what we need. This book had been in my list to be read forever and having read it at this point in my life just proved that I was right in my belief I previously described.

All of the emotional beats of this book hit so well, be it the sad, depressing moments or the hope it inspires. As a lesbian, this made me love, hope and despair all in equal amounts.

I don’t know if I’d say this is a read for everyone, but it was certainly an amazing read for me.
