When a book is repeatedly referenced in conversations regarding queer discourse, you are bound to have high expectations of it once you finally get around to reading it yourself. 'Stone Butch Blues' is a phenomenal piece of fiction that goes above and beyond meeting this expectation. It explores the significance of queer community and identity in such an honest and heartfelt manner. Although not a biography, Feinberg's own experiences are clearly echoed throughout the narrative, and despite all the pain and trauma detailed throughout the novel, one can admire the bravery and solidarity exhibited in spite of it all. This book has had such a strong impact on me, and I am so glad to have had the chance to read it. It was wonderful.

A landmark piece of queer literature and a must-read for queers everywhere. It changed the way I view my own gender and presentation in a fundamental way that has literally changed my life. Excellent book.
