Quick read. As a NASCAR fan I remember the 2001 Daytona 500 vividly. I knew at the time Dale was driving differently, but didn’t understand why. Now I do. Michael is a NASCAR personality and owes A LOT to Dale. I did not know the Wood Brothers story or the Bob Bahre story.

I saw an advertisement for this book while watching the Daytona 500. I've been a big fan of Mikey's for a while now and decided to check this book out from the library.

I'm glad I did. While the title leads you to think the book is from that fateful crash to the present. . . it's actually a book from Mikey's beginnings to the present.

There's a big chunk devoted to Dale, as he played a very important part in Mikey's racing career. It was very sad to read about Dale's crash, but I'm glad Mikey found an outlet for his grief. Many NASCAR fans will appreciate this book . . . whether they are an Earnhardt fan or not.

Best biography that I've read in a while. When I see Michael on TV, now I know the whole backstory. I enjoyed his unique sense of humor and all the NASCAR info.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I checked it out from the library because I was hesitant to buy it since I wasn't sure if I would even like it or not, after reading it I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if I wanted to read it again. It was a very good quick read that gave a lot of insight to Michael Waltrip's career and his relationship with his family.

I remember watching this race on tv and thinking how awesome it was for MW to finally get his 1st win but at the expense of DE. I've always wondered how he felt and what it was like being "that winner"..
