This was an interesting version of Jane Eyre. I liked how Jane was drawn, although she seemed prettier than I ever imagined her to be.
I haven't read Jane Eyre, the classic book it was based on. The Art Style was gorgeous but overall the story & writing were just ok, and the characters were really basic and not developed.
I enjoyed it! It is all the best parts of the classic without all of the "my master" bits.
Attempting to make sense of this ridiculous plot hurt my brain. Two stars for the cartoonist, minus one for the writer.
Had high hopes for this one. But besides the art, nothing exciting. I would rather read Jane Eyre again.
A slightly less gross version of Jane Eyre in which Rochester is less of a monster, if still kind of creepy and hitting on the nanny (without which it wouldn't be Jane Eyre). Racism has been purged and the villain of the piece is different. I enjoyed it but it didn't quite capture what I personally love best about Jane Eyre, which is that she was literally willing to die rather than live by someone else's terms.
