Per me, bocciatissimo.

I liked it but it went the route of a happy ending for a book that never had one. Beautifully drawn though

In this adaptation of Jane Eyre set in New York, beautiful blonde Jane falls for slitty eyed, Ken doll Rochester. Rochester is cold, mysterious and mostly absent, Jane is turned on (hints of Fifty Shades?). Of course being a billionaire doesn't hurt his desirability. Other than Rochester, I did love the art, but this version just reduces Jane Eyre to a modern romance, as in the cheap Harlequin kind.

This was a fun read, in a way, but the it had a whacking twist from the original that—well—made no sense. I also think I have yet to appreciate graphic novels. I want way more depth than what the genre generally provides. The art was interesting and pretty, though, that’s for sure.

Really not a great adaptation. :\ What a shame. It could have been great.

As a longstanding love of mine is Jane Eyre, this graphic novel was easy to love. The graphics are fantastic and it took me WAY TOO LONG to finally get that this was a Jane Eyre retelling. Honest. Kinda embarrassing. This modern retelling is simple and fun, creating that familiar warmth the original brings.

It was just meh. It wasn’t good it wasn’t bad. It was just okay. The story itself was somewhat interesting but some points it just felt so far fetched.
