Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy.

Merit and Ira are great main characters and I enjoyed that they were ‘flawed’, it wasn’t a one and done situation with their relationship but they worked together to make it happen.

I don’t usually gravitate towards sports romances but enjoyed how basketball was a large part of both their lives and their love story. I liked that a lot of the story was surrounded by the games and their training but we weren’t reading chapters of a match - it was more a setting than the main story.

Overall this was a great romance and I enjoyed reading it.

I’ve had this book on my kindle for months but for some reason I just never started it, so imagine my surprise when I picked it up two days ago and was utterly obsessed with it. I don’t know why I didn’t read it earlier but I truly didn’t know what I was missing out on.

Although this book is like 500 pages long, it doesn’t feel that way. The pacing was so so good. Adorabol Huckleby-Ordaz’ writing style is so incredible and I simply can’t wait to read more of her work! Merit and Ira are both such likeable characters. I found myself understanding Merit so much and her reactions; she felt so real to me. Like someone I’d met before in the mirror. I loved her so much and was rooting for her the entire time. I loved Ira so so much. Honestly one of my favourite book boyfriends.

Uhh I can not gush about this book enough. I don’t normally like slow burns but my goodness was this one so perfect! It was worth it.

I wish the epilogue was a tad longer but I understand that it wasn’t given the length of the book, but I’m a sucker for epilogues and I also feel like I was robbed of the epic love scene but that’s just a personal taste issue.

All in all, absolutely enjoyable book. I will now go off and see what else Adorabol Huckleby-Ordaz has written 😂 5 stars baby, 5 stars!

Wow this book! Honestly this book didn’t even feel that long to me, it had me hooked and couldn’t stop reading it. I love Merit and Ira, their love is one of the healthiest romances I’ve read, and best believe I will be rereading this book again!

When I say this is my favorite book I've read for the year. This is my favorite book I've read. This is the first book I've read by Adorabol, but it will NOT be my last. Ira and Merit quite literally have my heart so dang bad. At first, I was a little worried I wasn't going to like it because it does start out slow, and I am not necessarily a fan of slow burns, but oh my gosh. Watching Ira utterly and completely fall in love with Merit did something to me. It pulled at my heart strings so much. I loved how he loved her and taught her how to love again after her traumatic life. He helped her love herself. His love for her transcended what he needed from her, but how to better help her and I think that is what we all need in life. Someone who brings out the things we hide in deep within ourselves. I cried during this book. Happy tears of course because it is the dream to be loved the way that Ira loved Merit. I am a sports romance girlie and the basketball aspect of their relationship was amazing to see what lengths he would go to get her attention and to protect her.
Thank you Adorabol for choosing me to be an ARC! I will forever be grateful and if there is more for Merit and Ira's story, sign me up!!
