I loved this series and absolutely devoured every volume. I have some critiques of the gay romance that I will unfortunately have to put in a spoiler tag, and I would really recommend reading the book before seeking out detailed reviews!! Spoiler-free version is that it's the type of ending that has you on ao3 moments after closing the book. I really wish we got something more from Will and Damien's relationship. Even in the epilogue they have that "historians call them best friends" energy. The only couple who gets dedicated time in a formal relationship in the text of the book is Monica and Dorian.

god i loved this what an epic finale!! will say this moves a little too fast at times but i think that’s just bc it’s a webtoon adaptation.
so attached to these characters by the end and i loved how they handled the final conflicts with nuance. adored the new time skip designs! and the more emotionally mature plot points. love loved the relationships we ended up with teehee and truly wish there was more!

As someone who read the original comic on webtoon as it was releasing, this was definitely my least favorite re-read of the three printed volumes. A lot of content was cut for time and as far as adaptations go, I just think the transfer from one medium to another was not very well done in this particular book. Some of the color saturation was lost along with details from panels that had to be cropped, but mostly I’m just extremely disappointed with how many scenes were entirely scrapped, especially towards the end. It seems to me like it would have been beneficial to make a fourth volume so that the full story could have been told. Some of the cuts were also clearly made to appeal to a more middle grade audience because some of the more sensual physicality was scrapped, as were the curse words and some innuendos, which is understandable but still upsetting since I now have to watch ads on Webtoon to access some of my favorite moments from the comic - like Damien telling Dorian he’s in love with Will - despite having paid to own the full printed edition.
