Rikki, a diver in Sea Haven, is a woman that enjoys solitude and has a affinity with the sea and its elements. So when she went diving she ends up rescuing Lev Prekenskii, who has no memory of his past, and almost kills her viewing her as a threat. After he realizes who she really is, she takes him home with her. At first Rikki has a hard time with Lev so close to her, but amazingly she adjusts to his presence in her home and she is drawn to this enigmatic man that has wakened up every cell in her body. As their relationship intensifies, so does the danger that threatens them both and Rikki's family and all that she holds dear. Only when she learns to trust in her own abilities and in the man who has stolen her heart, will she be able to survive the inescapable tide.
Ever since I read the Drake Sisters Series, and when I read Turbulent Sea, I wondered if Christine Feehan would work on the Prakenskii brothers, and I am happy to say that this series: Sisters of the Heart deals with each Prakenskii brother and each sister that has formed such a close bond to each other, even though they aren't related by blood, they are sisters at the heart. Water Bound is the first installment in this series, and just as enjoyable as every one of Feehan's books. I found both of the characters charming. The plot had me from the first page until the very last, leaving me satisfied yet I can hardly wait for the second one "Spirit Bound". I think one of the things that I loved about this story was how much Lev and Rikki need love more than anyone, and they need that strong connection to one another. A True Romance filled with danger, passion and magic!

3.5 Stars I always like reading Christine Feehan's novels since they have great, passionate romances. However, the romances are part of the problem I have with them. They are always really cheesy and unwavering in the sure-sighted quest for love. The parties rarely have second thoughts about each other throughout meeting and learning about one another. Which, of course that's romantic and all, but really? No questioning at all?

Well, back to the story, I enjoyed that Feehan took the chance to write about an unconventional character - Rikki, our heroine, is a high-functioning autistic woman. She did a pretty good job highlighting some of the qualities and difficulties that can be associated with the disorder. I liked the relationship that Rikki had with her "sisters" also, even though the fragility that they used with her I found a bit hard to take.

However, all in all, I enjoyed this audio and will probably continue on with the series.

I can not recommend this book enough. I love all of Christine Feehan's books. This is a fantastic book and I recommend to everyone.

Usually I can deal with a bit of cheesy "Omg we're made to be together. There's such a pull it's obvious our souls are bound." Since that's what tends to be in generic romance novels. This book takes that to a whole new level. It was basicaly repeating over and over that there was some friggen connection that magically happen but isn't really explained... to be honest, I gave up at page 267 because I was so bored of reading the same thing over and over again. Yes she obviously is autistic and he still loves her, that's great...yes they have some magic element based stuff going on, but I didn't see any depth or explanation about it in the 267 pages I read. If it's a main peice of the story it should be explained within the first 200 pages... unless I missed a book before this one? Even so, most series that have a continuous theme have some sort of explanation to tie them together. I really wanted to like this book. I usually finish a book like an obligation, even if I'm not totally into it, but I just can't be bothered to read the rest of this.

3.5 Stars.

Would have been 4.5 if Ms. Feehan wasn't so OVERLY wordy and repetitive.

For all those who read Kristen Ashley and knows how wordy she can get in descriptions, Let me tell you Now!
Feehan takes the Cake in that department. In comparison of the two, KA's descriptive writing looks conservative and restrained. And That is Saying Something!

Feehan is also very repetitive.

The mc's and other characters are interesting. The steam, suspense, mystery are all intriguing.

I also found a couple of editing errors.

While I like the story, I can't say I loved it. I would have if I didn't have to read the same 'Inner Thoughts' of both mc's over and over again.

Truthfully, this could have easily been 100 pages shorter. And it really should have been.

Anyway, I will continue the series for 2 reasons.
1. It is connected to the Torpedo Ink series, which I like better. This series came first and after reading the 1st book in that series I realized I was missing information from this one.
2. I am invested in finding out more about this World she has created.

I will say, be prepared to skim over a lot of repetition and overly wordy descriptions about EVERYTHING!

It wasn't a knock my socks off awsomeness feeling while I was reading, but it kept me turning pages and slightly reluctant to put down. All in all a good read.
