The way the author worked the time lines and ships and crews and everything together over the course of this series was masterful! Great series.

The final installment to this trilogy nicely bookended the origin and demise of the Borg. The story revolves around three starships captained by Ezri Dax, Riker, and Picard and Erika Hernandez who is living with the Caeliar. A smaller portion, but no less important, is spent telling the story of the MACOs stranded with the Caeliar's city of Mantilis-- where the Borg originated.

I liked everything about this book except for two things; Picard made to seem so impotent and unlike his established character, and Troi painted out to be a real b*itch without a good reason.

Enjoyed but felt longer then needed

While I enjoyed the book it did feel longer than it needed to be and I would have liked it to have lost or at least condensed some of the snapshots of what's happening elsewhere

Great ending to a top-notch trilogy. The Destiny saga really shakes up the Star Trek expanded universe. I'm really excited to see what happens next. Nice character development between Picard & Crusher and Riker & Troi. This series even made me care about Ezri Dax! My one complaint was that I would have liked to have seen some closure with the Janeway story. I'm hoping that will be addressed in future novels. Anyway, very good trilogy. Check it out.

I had a few reservations about the direction the "flashback" half of the story was going, and about the resolution...
After a few days stewing on it, though...it works. I enjoyed the read; it was a page-turner. I can't wait to find out the ramifications of its events in the follow-up by Keith RA Decandido, probably my favorite Trek author.

Book Review - Star Trek Destiny Book 3 by David Mack

This is the conclusion of the most fantastic series in Star Trek history.
This series reveals the origin of Star Trek's greatest baddie (The Borg). Involving all of the series including Voyager this final book sets the stage for the Voyager relaunch books beginning with Full Circle.

As soon as I have cleared some more of my TBR stack I am planning on running through the complete relaunch series of Star Trek books at some point in the future.
