A story I'd read at fifteen myself; fifteen, and frightened to my marrow in the pits of the closet. Flipping through the same pages again, eleven years later, my fingers thicker and longer and lots more worn; it feels like digging up my own old diary. Whiplash to my past, and I remember the ambivalent feeling of ecstasy at my shared experience, and a shame that still burns to this day. (Albeit in a scatter of embers; though they are few, they burn bright enough to smart.)

Not at all what I thought it would be. Dante wasn't even in the whole book, which made it extremely slow and boring. I had to make myself finish reading it. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because once Dante was back in the picture toward  the end it was more enjoyable.
