I was intrigued by this story line however it wasn’t dying to pick it up. It was also got a little long- I definitely prefer quicker reads in the 300-page range. I did still overall enjoy the book and would read another by this author.
While i know the main character had multiple people to work through, it felt LONG. The “who dunnit” was a good twist, but……. It was fine. Wouldn’t find myself grabbing for it again or even recommending it but….. it was fine.
The actor for the audiobook was really good though! Finding different tones and vocal rhythms for each character.

I love older-style creepy-manor-house-in-the-country tales, and this one was no exception! Add a murder mystery time-loop component and that sealed the deal in my needing to read it.
I was loving this book and but then the end did what?
My favorite parts were 1. seeing the mystery get solved and 2. seeing every day repeat from a different perspective. The part about the perspectives that I found most interesting was how the protagonists' mind would change and adapt to their new host.
I still have no idea how his time travel loop functioned. It makes no sense to me. And I doubt it ever will. However, it wasn't necessary to understand it completely in order to follow along and to enjoy the story. I didn't manage to work out any of the murders or mysteries in advance, but I don't mind. They were well done.
That said, omg there are a lot of murders. This is a dark story. And it does not shy away from being gory or graphic. There is an attempted rape (one of the hosts is a serial rapists who's friends and family constantly cover it up, and being in his body the MC mentions how he is constantly fighting his urges. It's pretty disgusting). In fact, most of the characters are despicable. In a way they all deserve to get murdered. But no one deserve that.

I don't know why the author tried to force all that meta information in there. It really wasn't that necessary for the story, and in a way ended up detracting a lot of what I liked. My favorite parts were 1. seeing the mystery get solved and 2. seeing every day repeat from a different perspective. I wanted to like this story so much more than I did. The concept is fascinating it is something that draws you in but it's lacking something for me. I love the twist and I think that is what made me love the concept but it just didn't sell me on it. The character development is slow and not full so there is a lot of left out pieces and makes it that the story doesn't line up the way that you may want it to. The concept though really highlights why the storyline doesn't line up the way you wanted to also leaves you maybe a bit confused in my case. Maybe it was the audiobook that caused me to easily become distracted and then cause there to be confusion but for now it's only three stars.

I was so disappointed, but maybe my expectations were too high.
The concept of the book is fantastic, but the execution of it was just drawn out and over complicated. If it was kept as a murder mystery it would have been 4 stars. But workout going into detail, there were unnecessary elements added that didn’t as much to the story except give you more things to remember with an sheet complicated plot line.

I enjoyed this book, but I thought there was a lot of violence. I guess unnecessary violence is a good representation of hell, but still. Blackheath was well-described but maybe I read too many closed room murder mysteries, because it did not keep my interest.

So many twists and turns, I loved every second of it. It was so confusing, in all the best ways. I can understand some of the complaints of others, but none of that put me off.
