Helpful, but targeted to a certain spiritual black female audience.

Interesting perspective; I really enjoyed this one, if not for the advice, but for entertainment value alone. I feel like young women in their late teens or early twenties could take something away from this one.

Smart and funny, although not all points were relevant to me I was able to take away a lot from this! I recommend it to all my single girlfriends.

after reading this book, all I want to say is "thanks god i'm a lesbian"

This book was a mixed bag for me.

Things I Agree With
- don't expect to be able to talk to your man like one of your girl friends. He's not. Men aren't interested in gossip and they find it draining.
- If he's hesitant to intro you to his family or doesn't give you a title, he's using you. Learned that one the hard way.
- Dear women, stop cheating with married men. Also, hookup culture is the greatest lie men have ever convinced women of. Hooking up only benefits the men who do it. They don't care about pleasuring the women and they don't care about the consequences afterwards. Don't hookup and especially don't hookup with men you know or aren't sure are married.

Things I Disagree With
- Men who say "all men cheat" are cheaters. Stay as far away from them as possible. As soon as Harvey said that I immediately knew he was a cheater because they're the only ones who would say that. I'm not sure how much we can trust Mr. Harvey's advice now knowing that he's not only a cheater but has gone through several marriages unsuccessfully.
