as a counter-balancing influence to “The Game” by Neil Strauss, I decided to read this hilarious Steve Harvey dating manual. I can totally see now how they were able to adapt the book into not just one but two major box office hits. The book has really helped me understand the ways in which men can support their female friends as they try to make sense of a complex dating world, so I highly recommend this to guys who are trying to understand how to best give dating advice to women in their life. Yes, the book is somewhat hetero-normative, but Steve Harvey is not taking himself seriously enough to pretend as this is the one and only source of dating advice one should have in his life. Give how many women have benefitted from this book, it’s clear that we are better off with him having put his thoughts down on paper.

Macho chauvinist bull. Only read this book if you are looking gender stereotype roles from the 1950's. This book does not provide a 'guide to what men think' it is in instruction manual on 'how to make your man happy'. Some hints and tips include congratulating your man for watching the children so he knows he's appreciated (umm, he's being a parent!!!) and letting him help you with a task when you are capable of doing yourself so he can feel like a man.

Couldn't get thru it:(

This book helped me to understand men better though personally for me at least it seemed like a lot of the stuff was kind of obvious. I enjoyed reading it though and it was a very quick read for me.

Oh, Steve.
