This book was a surprising throwback to the 80's romcoms and dysfunctional notions of romance. The title reference suggested the next decade, so I was prepared for some cheesy stupidity, but not quite on this level. I suppose it was true to form, very predictable and formulaic, so if 80's romcoms is something you miss - this book is for you.

I, however, only finished this book because I was waiting (in vain) for a twist or trope subversion - some deviation from the disgusting outdated form. I was refusing to believe that someone could write this sh..tuff with a straight face in the 21st century. But, here you go, apparently.

I guess this book has the trainwreck "wow" factor going for it, so I am giving it an extra star on that score.

I'm giving this two stars because, had I finished it, I think it would have been a "meh" book for me. However, I'm done reading books that are only "meh" so I'm quitting it after two days with no desire to even pick it up. The characters were okay, though they blended together a bit for me. I thought I would find their business more interesting as I was in event planning once upon a time, but (as far as I got) there was very little actual work happening. Nothing about it was bad, I just found myself not interested.

I'm yet to find a Sarah Morgan book I don't like. She has the perfect mix of romance, angst and smut. I'm definitely continuing in this series!

Jake, przyjaciel jej brata i dawna miłość Paige namawia ją, aby zamiast załamywać ręce, założyła własną firmę. Choć pomysł wydaje się absurdalny i niewykonalny, Paige postanawia się go podjąć. Ciężkie początki w branży zmuszają ją do poproszenia o pomoc właśnie Jake’a. Młoda singielka musi jednak pamiętać, że on już raz złamał jej serce i ponowne zakochanie się w nim może skończyć się katastrofą.

Hmmm. I liked the plot, but some things just went way too fast. Marriage? After a month?? Alrighty then. But I’m a sucker for feel good, so hello three stars.
